Hi, I'm Duncan
My name is Duncan Wooster. I’ve been a professional pilot since 1995 and served for 8 years in the Army National Guard as a medic. I thought I knew how to stay healthy and fit. Outwardly speaking, I looked and felt like I was healthy through my 30s. I turned 40 on our Army deployment in Afghanistan and when I got home something changed. I began to gain weight and everything I thought I knew, everything that worked for the last 10 years wasn’t working anymore. Over the next 5 years I gained weight into obesity.
I had all but given up. I thought it would be easier to get to 300 pounds than get back to 200 pounds. Then I watched a movie that made me question everything I thought I knew. I had to challenge my beliefs on health. I started reading books on topics I thought I’d never read about, and my research took me down rabbit holes that took me down other rabbit holes.
I started to implement changes in my life that led to real gains and improvements. I have made many mistakes and had missteps along my journey. I had to adjust fire a few times, however I lost 50 pounds the first year and have kept it off. In the first 18 months I went from 37% body fat to 17% body fat, and I feel great. I have a long way to go, but I’m getting there and every day I learn something new. I started this website to share with you what I’ve learned and hopefully inspire you to learn more as well.
I’m from the Midwest but call Sonoma County California home now. I separated from the Army National Guard in 2018 but I am still flying the AirBus out of SFO. As a father to three amazing kids and a husband to a beautiful wife, my health is as important as ever.
